New Features Archives

You may notice that next time you log into the humyo web-based file manager that things look a little different. In our continuing effort to make the humyo experience as pleasant as possible for you, the user, we’ve had a long hard look through the range of icons that we use. As of today we have refreshed the entire set, adding our own style to each and every one.

You may also notice that we are supporting the ‘Share Icon Project‘. The idea of the project being to support a single standard visual representation of the concept of sharing, be it with services like Twitter or Facebook, or with your friends directly through humyo. By supporting the share icon project we hope to help make this symbol synonymous with the idea of sharing, both on humyo and throughout the internet.

We are proud to announce the addition of an automatic file version history feature-set to our award winning cloud storage platform here at humyo.com – keeping track of changes to your files couldn’t be any more easier now thanks to our new automatic file version history.

File Version History is enabled for humyo Premium and humyo Workspace and works seamlessly in the background to capture any changes that are made to any of your files in real time. You then have the ability to restore, download or remove each version of a file through the humyo.com web-based file manager.

We’re pleased to announce that from today the new and improved humyo SmartDrive is available for immediate download. Significant improvements to previous version(s) – focusing on speed, reliability and ease-of-use.

Before we run through the improvements in humyo SmartDrive (sure you’ll be impressed because we’re delighted with the results) let’s briefly touch on the benefits when you install humyo SmartDrive on your computer.

What is humyo SmartDrive and what are the benefits?

SmartDrive is a intelligent file sync and backup client – available for install for both Premium and Workspace customers. Highlighted below are a few of the benefits of humyo SmartDrive – further information can be found here.

• Sync files across multiple computers (both PC and Mac!)
• Access to your files even when your not connected
• Automatic backup of files to your online storage account
• Access your files directly from Windows Explorer or Finder

Late yesterday afternoon we silently released one of the most requested features here at humyo – a Recycle Bin.

Yes, the humyo File Manager now has it’s own Recycle Bin which will capture any files deleted from humyo including the SmartDrive! This means if you ever delete a file from humyo by mistake you will be able restore it simply by logging into humyo.com.

To make things simpler for our Workspace users we have split the Recycle Bin up, so that each Teamspace will have their own dedicated Recycle Bin.

We’re pleased to announce the release of our new reporting feature within all of our online storage products, humyo free, Premium and Workspace.

The new reporting feature is accessible from humyo file manager and then by clicking on My Account details.

Grouped by common file type’s  the new reporting feature makes it easier to manage your online storage space.

To view your online space usage report, simply click here to access your humyo online storage account.

hello fellow humyo users, today we are pleased to announce the latest version of our Mac client! Available for immediate download the new humyo Mac client now includes support for folder pairing and file sync.

The UI Team here at humyo have just released an update that improves the way that we display information of a file or folder. Previously this information was displayed obscurely on the right hand side of the humyo File manager which caused it to go unnoticed to some of our users.

To improve this we decided to display the meta information as tooltip above the actual item that it relates to. This tooltip is displayed when you hold your mouse over an item for a short period of time. Every file will display the basic meta information such as file name, file type, file size and the date it was created, but we have also extended the information displayed on certain items to make it more useful for you.

Hello fellow humyo users, today I would like to introduce you to a new UI feature that we have just released to humyo File manager… Drag-to-Select!

Drag-to-Select in it’s simplest form is the ability to select a number of files in one go – just as you would expect to do on Window Explorer or in Finder on Apple OSX.
