Java has always been a thorn in our side here at humyo.com due to it’s implementation within some browsers. So we are delighted to announce the release of an improved Java loading system for our web file manager.

We utilise Java to enable some advanced features within your browser which wouldn’t be possible without it such as multiple file downloads, drag and drop uploading and the ability to edit files directly on your computer and have the changes saved straight to humyo.

Humyo users, we just got better! Thank you for all your feedback, we took it onboard and our guys have worked hard to bring you our latest SmartDrive update.

SmartDrive 2.2.0.9 for both Windows and Mac OS X makes your life easier, with improved UI performance and a fixing of the problem with resuming partially-synced files being amongst the many changes.

• Made online/offline and syncing/paused changes more responsive, by handling them asynchronously in the core. Added a new “connecting” state when going online. (Previously, the UI would be locked up while in this state)
• Fixed issue that prevented files being moved or renamed if they were not cached locally.
• When a paired folder is un-paired, the local copy on SmartDrive is set to not wanting to be cached. This prevents the client downloading the same files that the user will already have in the original folder that was paired.
• Resuming a partially-synced file works again (instead of restarting from the beginning)
• Branding changes: “Company name”, “Product name” and “Full product name” are fetched from the server.
• Opposite-side merge will now happen reliably if necessary when creating a file.  Opposite-side merge can also happen as part of a sync.
• Files which have been moved from a non-excluded name to an excluded name are now synced.
• Paired folders will not be left lying around if log uploading fails

(Since 2.2.0.8)

• Fixed issue introduced in 2.2.0.8 that made it hard to go online after manually going offline.
• Fixed issue preventing error messages being displayed when the client couldn’t go online due to invalid user name or password.
• Client is now more responsive to internet availability changes.
• Decreased the likelihood of getting Connection Timeout errors.
• Fixed issue where some applications would not be able to save documents directly to the SmartDrive.
• Fixed rare issue where duplicated files could end up slightly larger than the original.
• On Mac OS X 10.6.2 or later, Finder icons for items managed by SmartDrive will now have or badges to show their current state on the server. (This may require a restart after installing).
